Waste segregation does not matter in India?
Interesting topic to read about. It’s not only an event it’s something that can be helped by you!
Hello, in this blog post we are going to talk about waste segregation in India. This is a big global issue happening in India. This has been a major problem and has been affecting people in various locations in India.

How Did It occur?
According to organica biotech, the trash comes from littering uselessly and trash pickers. In India many people start throwing trash around the street without knowing it’s harmful. In my opinion it is really bad because when you throw your trash you are not just clearing pockets, you are affecting living things around you. Even the habitat around you is affected. This is not fair to others and animals. According to the Borgen project, the increase of population has led to extra trash. Most of the population happened around poor villages. Since the people are poor, they end up working as trash pickers but since they don’t know how to survive the cold they start to burn up all the trash they collected for their warmth. The villagers do not know that they are causing most of global warming. When they get the job, they are not properly trained and given the right materials. The get health issues because of this. Thankfully there are many donations and people who really want to help out. My suggestion is to start teaching these workers on how to separate waste because India has mostly organic waste like leftover food. They could compose it but people do not know how to.
How bad is it?
According to Recycling Magazine, the urban side of India generates 62 million tonnes of waste. India is predicted to reach 165 million tonnes of waste during 2030. During the first half of 2022, India was the second highest methane emitter in the world. Methane is this really strong greenhouse gas that is over 84 times more potent in warming the atmosphere than carbon dioxide. I have seen lots of people littering and many people just don’t care about it. A citizen that lives near a dump has had experience with pollution in his area. He said that most of his people have health problems now. Once in my area there was a lot of smoke (due to pollution around us) around the bus arrival area and then the people started coughing and covered their noses because of how uncomfortable it was. Apparently the government is scared to fix this because of global backlash. Around a year ago the government submitted a report of suggestions to help decrease the waste. In Delhi, an infamous dump leaked an estimate of 2.17 methane in an hour. Around a year ago the government submitted a report of suggestions to help decrease the waste. One of the key ideas they found was to convert the landfills into sparks. Have you seen many of these problems?
In a conclusion, India has been developing worse and worse. Many data shows that each year tonnes of waste increase.
